Turmeric Root Extract

Has been regarded as a hair growth tonic for CENTURIES and hailed for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Countless research studies have documented turmeric’s inhibitory effect on androgens (dihydrotestosterone (DHT), specifically) which is involved in both male and female-pattern hair loss and alopecia. It’s also been shown to help resolve underlying conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, which can be a contributing factor in hair loss. Infusing turmeric root into your scalp will even unlock its ability to activate vitamin D receptor genes in your hair follicles (Demay, 2007), modulating the growth cycle of your hair!

Rosemary Leaf Extract/Oil

A study done in 2015 (Panahi et al) demonstrated that rosemary essential oil was just as effective as minoxidil (Rogaine) in the reversal of hair loss caused by androgens, a common cause for both men and women. Another study inferences that rosemary oil might prevent dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from binding to hormone receptors that otherwise would enable it to attack hair follicles, helping to prevent hair loss (Murata et al, 2013).

tea tree leaf

Tea Tree Leaf Oil

A widely used antibacterial and anti-fungal remedy that has been shown to help combat infection and micro-inflammation of the hair follicles, which can contribute to the pathogenesis of androgenic alopecia if left untouched. Reducing scalp inflammation can minimize sebum production, preventing the colonization of unwanted organisms that could modify androgen metabolism and cause hair loss (Sakr, et al 2013).

fresh cut aloe vera

Aloe Leaf Juice

Contains proteolytic enzymes that can repair dead skin cells on your scalp while doubling as a natural conditioning agent, leaving your hair smooth and shiny. Aloe also has a chemical makeup similar to keratin (the primary structural protein of your hair) helping to further infuse It with elasticity and help prevent breakage.

Peppermint leaves surrounded by green circle

Peppermint Oil

Shown to help promote the elongation of hair follicles from the epidermis down to the subcutaneous tissue and conservation of vascularization of hair dermal papilla, resulting in an early anagen stage of active hair growth (Young et. al, 2014). Of four experimental groups, peppermint oil showed the most prominent hair growth effects: a significant increase in dermal thickness, follicle number, follicle depth, alkaline phosphatase activity, and gene expression of insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1).

Lavender

Lavender Oil

Has been shown to have a marked hair growth effect when applied topically by maintaining the active, anagen phase of hair growth and delaying the catagen phase, which is the end of active hair growth (Lee et al., 2016). This results in thicker-looking and faster hair growth overall. A scalp massage with lavender essential oil was found to improve hair growth in almost 50% of people in just 7 weeks (Prusinowska, 2014).

Cucumber slices

Cucumber Fruit Extract

High in silicon, sulphur, vitamin C, K, potassium, and magnesium - the mineral-rich and hydrating properties of cucumber can soothe and nourish your scalp, helping to combat dryness and can revitalize hair follicles. It’s anti-inflammatory properties also help protect against free radical damage from the environment, helping your hair to grow stronger and longer!

calendula flower

Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract

A potent regenerative and anti-inflammatory herb, calendula has a high amount of flavonoids that works to help increase blood flow to the scalp, hydrate and help remove dandruff, while helping to increase collagen production. This allows hair follicles to grow in abundance, promoting a stronger, thicker mane. It’s soothing properties also work to help add shine and luminosity!

Chamomile leaves surrounded by brown circle

Chamomile Flower Extract

Known for its follicle-conditioning abilities, chamomile has a calming and soothing effect on your scalp, helping to prevent and ease skin irritations that contribute to hair loss and thinning. It’s anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant, and anti-microbial properties also make it a powerful neutralizer of free radical damage and can contribute to the growth of fuller, thicker-looking, and stronger strands.

Camellia seeds open and closed

Camellia Leaf Extract

Known to help give ALL hair types a silky softness, camellia seed oil is similar to the oil your body naturally produces, helping to keep your scalp cleansed and hydrated. It’s also packed with vitamins A, B, C, and E and is most known for its ability to help lock-in moisture, while helping to restore color to greying hair! Rich with omega-9 fatty acids and 80% oleic acid in particular, this oil can restore softness to dry, brittle hair and can help prevent breakage by restoring hair strength and elasticity.

Safflower seed

Safflower Seed Oil

Rich in oleic acid, this vitamin can help increase scalp circulation, help stimulate hair growth, help strengthen follicles and help nourish your roots by penetrating deep into your scalp. Its high vitamin E content can prevent free radical damage that can come from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays and environmental pollution. It also acts as a vasodilator when applied to your scalp, helping to bring oxygen-rich blood and nourishment to feed your mane.

sliced coconut

Cocamidopropyl Betaine

A fatty acid derived from coconuts, this is a rich and hydrating surfactant that can help keep the scalp moist by attracting water to the hair follicles and creating a barrier between the hair follicle and environmental impurities. If your scalp becomes dry, this can lead to dandruff which blocks your pores, interrupting the normal growth cycle of your hair and resulting in potential hair loss. Betaine helps to keep your scalp clean, can help prevent infection, helps protect the protein structure of your hair, and helps maintains hair elasticity.

Vitamin B7 B 7

Biotin

A B-vitamin that can improve the keratin structure of your hair, it has been found to help improve hair growth, help reduce shedding, help prevent inflammation, and can help reverse alopecia. In a study done in 2015, women with thinning hair took a biotin-containing marine protein supplement vs a placebo and those taking the supplement experienced a significant amount of hair growth in the areas affected by hair loss (Ablon et al).

Vitamin E E

Vitamin E

A potent antioxidant that can help protect the scalp from free radical damage commonly occurring from environmental toxins and ultraviolet (UV) rays. Without this support, oxidative stress can attack the hair follicles, resulting in hair loss and increased breakage. Topically, vitamin E is found to accumulate in the extracellular lipid matrix of the stratum corneum, where is contributes to the body’s antioxidant defence system promoting hair strength and fullness.

Vitamin B5 B 5

Panthenol (Vitamin B5)

Helps penetrate hair cuticles to provide enhanced moisture retention and strength to the hair shaft, can help increase resilience and prevent breakage. Vitamin B5 also acts as an emollient, which can sooth the scalp to encourage hydration, reduce frizz, and promote SHINE.

Vitamin C C

VITAMIN C

A highly bioavailable, fat-soluble form of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) that acts as a potent antioxidant against ultraviolet (UV) and environmental damage. Vitamin C is known as a free radical scavenger, which can prevent unstable molecules from destroying hair follicles - keeping your hair growth strong and full!

Vitamin A A

VITAMIN A

Critically important to the development and maintenance of the epithelial tissues - including skin, hair, and sebaceous glands, a diet lacking in vitamin A can lead to metaplasia of keratinized epithelia within the hair follicle and destruction of the sebaceous gland, resulting in hair loss and thinning. Since sebum production is essential to help moisturize the scalp and prevent breakage, vitamin A is crucial in supporting hair strength and resilience.
